Hello, this is Mrs. Kochis, the Dean of Students at Mason CLC. Here is your “Friday Five” important things you need to know for the week of October 23, 2017.

  1. As the weather becomes cooler please help to make sure your children are dressing warm enough for the commute to and from school and outside recess. Students should have socks, pants, long sleeved shirts and may also layer with a plain hoodie or sweater with no logo’s or writing. Please also send students with a coat, and when necessary hat and gloves.

  1. Candy bars are being sold for $1.00 after school on Thursdays by Student Council. Proceeds go towards family game night in December.

3. With the recent deaths of two more APS students by house fire, the Red Cross of Summit County is partnering with area Fire Departments, Emergency Management Agencies and city officials to help keep our families safe. To receive a free smoke alarm installation in your home, please call 330-535-2030. The Red Cross will contact you within one week to schedule a time for volunteers to install smoke alarms in your home. But smoke alarms, alone, will not save lives. Knowledgeable volunteers can also help educate families and individuals on fire safety, including how to create an escape plan, during the installation.

4. Candy-grams are being sold in the mornings before school for 50 cents each.

5. We want to give a sincere thank you to all of the families that came out last night to our Family Reading Night. We hope you had a good time and enjoyed our activities. If you couldn’t make it we hope to see you at the next one!

Thank you and enjoy the weekend!
